Gladiator Update

Posted on April 29, 2020 by admin

A few tweaks have been made to gladiator based on the feedback we’ve had from a number of players:

  • Arena timer increased to one hour.
  • More XP is given per phase, with less dropping from mobs.
This should even out the amount you get between different classes.
  • XP you pick up should now directly line up with the levels on your hotbar.
  • Some Classes have been given extra food.
  • A few tweaks to the arena to prevent players & mobs getting stuck where they shouldn’t.

Server Update: SniperTown Fixes!

Posted on April 28, 2020 by admin

We hope you’re all enjoying the snipertown contest, and really look forward to being able to play on some of your maps in the future.

Ahead of implementing new maps, today we have done a bunch of little fixes and tidying up of the snipertown servers. The key changes below:

  • Arrows are now given to you every 2 minutes during the game.
  • We’ve added information to the boss bar to show the remaining time in lobby, as well as your lives/score, and remaining players.
This should be less intrusive than the old scoreboard at the side.
  • We’ve done some prep work to allow more than 5 maps for the future, without having to vote on like 20.
  • We’ve adjusted the tokens you get from winning, with 18 given if you’re out, and 25 given if you’re still in.

Enjoy πŸ™‚

Server Update: Hub and Gladiator

Posted on April 17, 2020 by admin

Some of you may be in disbelief reading the title. But it’s true. We have rescued Gladiator from it’s endless redevelopment cycle and got it open for you all!

You can now play our wave-based mob arena at /gladiator
So far there’s only one map, with 30 waves and three bosses – but we plan to add more soonβ„’

Gladiator is open as a BETA server, so please expect some rough edges, and make sure to let us know if you run into problems!

We’ve also given the hub a bit of a spring clean, and rearranged it a little bit.

We hope you’ll enjoy these new additions, and stay tuned for some more stuff soon.

Economy Tweaks

Posted on April 6, 2020 by admin

To help keep our Survival Server’s economy running smoothly, we’ve introduced a few changes:

  • Minimum values of some items are being enforced in player shops.
If you sell any of these items, your prices will be adjusted by our team manually.
Please make sure to stick to these guidelines. The prices may change in the future.Β

  • Voting now gives $10 per vote, instead of $5
  • Auctions now only cost $5 to start, and you get the entire proceeds. The server will no longer take a 5% cut.

As ever, if you have any feedback, please make sure to share in our discord server.

Upgrade Complete

Posted on March 30, 2020 by admin

Hi All, many thanks for your patience, the server’s upgrade is now complete (well I’m a bit delayed writing the post on the website, it was done a couple days ago.

Please make sure to make our team aware of any issues you encounter wither with /report [message] in game, or in the #suggestions-feedback channel on our discord server.

There’s likely still a few things that got forgotten or missed in the process, so please be patient with us.

ClownerCraft 2020 Upgrade!

Posted on March 26, 2020 by admin

TL;DR
Servers will be offline for some of this weekend, from Friday to Monday as we upgrade our hardware. Updates will be shared on our discord server. Please join the community there if you haven’t already.

The time has come where once again we need to upgrade the server we run off to accommodate the growing number of players, as well as better cope with Minecraft 1.15. We’ve held off on this a little up to this point to make sure we make a good choice to move to, and now that we’ve done so – it’s time to start transferring to the new machine.

To ensure we don’t lose people’s progress, this will require some downtime – however this will be staggered a little. We cannot give exact times for when servers will go down, or come back up as we will likely have to play this by ear incase anything goes wrong. Below is an outline of what our plans currently are – if we run into trouble these could all change. We will share updates as we go in our discord server, so please join it to keep tabs on what’s happening.

Friday
Skyblock will go offline and stay down until Sunday.
Snipertown, Parkour and the Hub will go offline briefly and then come back online within an hour.

Saturday
PureSurvival will go offline, and stay down until Sunday.
Creative will go offline, and stay down until Sunday.

Sunday
The entire network will go offline to transfer, starting at around 12 noon GMT.
All servers except Survival should then come online on Sunday afternoon, with Survival coming back up in the evening.

Monday
We’re holding Monday for now incase we run into trouble, do not be alarmed if servers are still down on Monday.

Hub Inventory Games!

It’s finally happened!

Clicking these signs actually do something now πŸ˜€

You can now play several inventory-based minigames, some single player, and some competitive, in the hub! And a few even reward tokens!

Enjoy!

Covid

Posted on March 19, 2020 by admin

For those of us who aren’t living under a rock, it’s pretty clear that this world is going through some very tough times. To avoid sounding like every company that’s been sending emails to mailing lists about how they’re responding to the virus, I’ll try to keep this short, but will include one sentence from the apparent template for good measure: We are closely monitoring the situation.

ClownerCraft itself, wont really be affected by the virus. Funnily enough, most of our voluntary team work from home- so we will still be here. We will still be open, you’ll still be able to play and communicate with others in our community.

Although we wont directly be affected, I think it is important that we play our part. We’ve already seen our active player count increase over the past few weeks, so we want to ensure we are doing all we can to support our community through this time. We haven’t yet worked out exactly what we are going to do yet, but please stay tuned for more updates soon.

In the mean time though, a short word about Mental Health.
With the uncertainty about the whole situation, as well as what the future holds, many of us will begin to feel anxious, stressed and worried about what’s next. And that is a perfectly normal response, just don’t let that anxiety, fear or other mental health struggle completely consume you in this time.

Our community has been already having discussions about the virus, and that’s a really good thing. Talking about it will help – it isn’t some magical cure – but it will help.

However, try not to be looking at information about the situation all the time, limit yourself to checking the news a few times a day, as the constant stream of reports can add to the worries. And make sure you’re looking at trusted sources, either the world health organisation, or your countries health service. This is in line with the WHO’s guidance on mental health.

To help with this we will be introducing a #covid-discussion channel in our discord server so that you can avoid the topic when you need to, while still being able to join in on other discussions.

We feel it’s really important to keep going as a community, so please be considerate of others and supportive through the struggles ahead.

For those who may want to have a copy of their builds, bases etc from the previous world from PureSurvival (MC 1.14.4):

You can click here to download the world.

Please be aware that it is a large zip file (over 1.5 GB). And may take a while to download.
