For those of us who aren’t living under a rock, it’s pretty clear that this world is going through some very tough times. To avoid sounding like every company that’s been sending emails to mailing lists about how they’re responding to the virus, I’ll try to keep this short, but will include one sentence from the apparent template for good measure: We are closely monitoring the situation.
ClownerCraft itself, wont really be affected by the virus. Funnily enough, most of our voluntary team work from home- so we will still be here. We will still be open, you’ll still be able to play and communicate with others in our community.
Although we wont directly be affected, I think it is important that we play our part. We’ve already seen our active player count increase over the past few weeks, so we want to ensure we are doing all we can to support our community through this time. We haven’t yet worked out exactly what we are going to do yet, but please stay tuned for more updates soon.
In the mean time though, a short word about Mental Health.
With the uncertainty about the whole situation, as well as what the future holds, many of us will begin to feel anxious, stressed and worried about what’s next. And that is a perfectly normal response, just don’t let that anxiety, fear or other mental health struggle completely consume you in this time.
Our community has been already having discussions about the virus, and that’s a really good thing. Talking about it will help – it isn’t some magical cure – but it will help.
However, try not to be looking at information about the situation all the time, limit yourself to checking the news a few times a day, as the constant stream of reports can add to the worries. And make sure you’re looking at trusted sources, either the world health organisation, or your countries health service. This is in line with the WHO’s guidance on mental health.
To help with this we will be introducing a #covid-discussion channel in our discord server so that you can avoid the topic when you need to, while still being able to join in on other discussions.
We feel it’s really important to keep going as a community, so please be considerate of others and supportive through the struggles ahead.
